Pietersen undone by wide delivery
Spinner poses weighty problem for England
England's batsmen felt
the pressure of the heavy roller, after 18st Dwayne Leverock took two for
32 off his allotted 10 overs, before recovering to beat Bermuda by 241 runs
in their World Cup warm-up.
On a roll: Dwayne Leverlock stymied England's
progress. Leverock, 35, used to tip the scales at 20st but lost weight for
this competition. A cagey left-arm spinner, he dismissed England's two best
one-day batsmen, Paul Collingwood and Kevin Pietersen, in successive overs.
Collingwood was caught behind, while Pietersen was stumped after being lured
out of his crease. The double strike sent jitters through England's middle
order and the roly-poly Leverock, a policeman, might have added to his tally
had Jamie Dalrymple not unintentionally obstructed wicketkeeper Dean Minors
after the ball popped up off off his glove. "I enjoyed myself," Leverock said.
"It's the first time I've played against a side like this." But Bermuda, in
reply to England's 286 for eight, were bowled out for only 45.
